Dear #monsterdon, love y'all, even tho I don't participate. Did you know that William Goldman, author and screenwriter of _The Princess Bride_, wrote the script for "The Stepford Wives"?
It's true. And, in the book _The Princess Bride_, he is in LA doing re-writes for "The Stepford Wives" when he first orders S. Morgenstern's classic for his ten-year-old son.
(You would only know this if you'd read the novel, which, frankly, you should do, as it is richer and more amazing than the movie.)
- This toot from crazypedia (crazypedia@officemarx.party) had 11 boosts.
"If I'm wrong I'm insane. If I'm right, it's worse than if I'm wrong." hits so fucking hard these days

Tonight on #monsterdon: The Stepford Wives (1975). I first saw this one many years ago, with my then-fiancee. It resonated with her on a level that it couldn’t with me: while she agreed that it was a big ball of cheeziness, it spoke to a deep-rooted suspicion that many strong, independent-minded women harbor about the men in their lives. She still married me, though.
If I have any commentary while watching The Stepford Wives (1975), this will be my root post for #Monsterdon this week.
If anyone doesn't know what Monsterdon is it is a weekly watch of a movie together and alerts are posted to the MonsterdonAlert hashtag if you want to see what people are watching this week.
You can mute people's root posts (like this one) or mute either of the hashtags if you aren't interested.
